Review: Double Cross by Carolyn Crane

Double Cross
Release Date: September 28, 2010
Publisher: Spectra
ISBN: #  9780553592627
Genre: Urban Fantasy
SOME SECRETS COME BACK TO HAUNT. OTHERS COME TO KILL...

Justine Jones has lived her life as a fearful hypochondriac until she's lured into the web of a mysterious mastermind named Packard. He gifts her with extraordinary mental powers-dooming her to fight Midcity's shadowy war on paranormal crime in order to find the peace she so desperately craves.

But now, serial killers with unheard-of skills are terrorizing the most powerful beings in Midcity, including mastermind Packard - and his oldest friend and worst enemy, Midcity's new mayor, who has the ability to bend matter itself to his will.

As the body count grows, Justine faces a crisis of conscience as she tests the limits of her new powers and faces an impossible choice between two flawed but brilliant men . . . one on a journey of redemption, and the other descending into a pit of moral depravity.

I was completely floored by the ending, you WILL be left reeling. WOW this is another one of those books I have a hard time reviewing without giving away spoilers. Justine and the gang are looking for a group called The Dorks who are killing Highcaps and Justine's Latest zapping "victim" is a Ezmerelda who can go into peoples dreams and control them. She connects to people through touching them and it just so happens she got to touch both Justine and Packard. That leads to her bringing forth sexy dreams of Justine and Packard to dream about each other as well as horrible events that neither would have shared otherwise. The mind games continue, lots of growing and hard decisions are made, the love triangle continues and then BAM mind blowing turn of events. This was by far my fave book of the series and I cant wait to read book 3.

Review: Hunted by the Others by Jess Haines

Hunted By the Others
Author: Jess Haines
Release Date: May 4, 2010
Publisher: Zebra
ISBN: #  9781420111873
Genre: Urban Fantasy
They are the Others—the vampires, mages, and werewolves once thought to exist only in our imaginations. Now they’re stepping out of the shadows, and nothing in our world will ever be the same again…

In A Town Like This, Being A P.I. Can Be Murder
Shiarra Waynest’s detective work was dangerous enough when her client base was strictly mortal. But ailing finances have forced her to accept a lucrative case that could save her firm—if it doesn’t kill her first. Shiarra has signed on to work for a high-level mage to recover an ancient artifact owned by one of New York’s most powerful vampires.

As soon as Shiarra meets sexy, mesmerizing vamp Alec Royce, she knows her assignment is even more complicated than she thought. With a clandestine anti-Other group trying to recruit her, and magi being eliminated, Shiarra needs back-up and enlists her ex-boyfriend—a werewolf whose non-furry form is disarmingly appealing—and a nerdy mage with surprising talents. But it may not be enough. In a city where the undead roam, magic rules, and even the Others aren’t always what they seem, Shiarra has just become the secret weapon in a battle between good and evil—whether she likes it or not…

Shiarra Waynest is a Human PI who does NOT want to work anything having to do with the Others. Her business is having money issues so she decides to take a mage up on a seemingly easy case of recovering an artifact that is owned by a local, very powerful (and sexy) vampire Alec Royce. She instantly finds herself in over her head with The White Hats (an anti-other group), the vampires and even the Weres who can be controlled by the artifact. She gets help from Sara her best Friend and business partner, Arnold a Mage she has just met from The Circle that has a hidden agenda and eventually her ex boyfriend Chaz who happens to be a werewolf. They all play roles in making the story exciting, dangerous and entertaining. The action was fantastic, I love when I can lose myself in a good fight and there were many points in the book where I refused to put it down to even make dinner. Hunted By the Others will leave you far from disappointed its a MUST read!!

Review: Red Hot Fury by Kasey MacKenzie

Red Hot Fury
Release Date: June 29, 2010
Publisher: Ace
ISBN: #  9780441018925
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Hell hath nothing worse than a Fury scorned...

As a Fury, Marissa Holloway belongs to an Arcane race that has avenged wrongdoing since time immemorial. As Boston’s Chief Magical Investigator for the past five years, she’s doing what she was born to: solving supernatural crimes.

It’s far from business as usual when the body of one of Riss’s sister Furies washes up in Boston harbor. Riss discovers that the corpse’s identity has been magically altered, but as soon as she reports her findings, she’s immediately—and inexplicably—suspended from the her job. Then a human assassin makes an attempt on her life, and Riss starts to realize that someone may be trying to stir up strife between mortals and Arcanes.

When a Fury gets mad, she gets even, and Riss is determined to untangle this case. Without the support of the mortal PD, Riss turns to the one man she can trust to watch her back—shapeshifting Warhound Scott Murphy. But since Scott is also Riss’s ex, she’ll have to keep a tight leash on more than just the supernatural rage that feeds her power as they try to solve a murder—and stop a war…

This is the first book in a brand new series by a brand new Author and WOW was it great. Marissa (Riss) is a fun, sexy, independent Fury who works with the Boston PD as there Chief Magical Investigator and someone is trying to kill her at every turn she takes. Riss is called to a murder scene to find that the victim is her missing Best friend who has been gone for years and then discovers that it isn't her body at all just a double made to look exactly like her. This leads to her investigating the whole thing which sends a group of bad guys after her that want her dead before she figures out their secret. Scott Murphy Riss's Ex is a shapeshifting Warhound (kinda like a private Eye/bodyguard) who is smoking hot and goes along for the ride. I thoroughly enjoyed Red Hot Fury, I thought the whole concept of the book was fantastic. There is tons of action and mystery to keep you interested. There isn't a ton of romance in here but there is some high sexual tension at some points. All in all a great start for Kasey Mackenzie.

Review: Harvest Hunting by Yasmine Galenorn

Harvest Hunting
Release Date: October 26, 2010
Publisher: Berkley
ISBN: #  9780515148534
Genre: Urban Fantasy
We're the D'Artigo sisters: sexy, savvy operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. But being half-human, half-Fae means our supernatural talents can go haywire at any time. My sister Camille is a wicked good witch whose life recently took a drastic turn. Menolly's a vampire who's still getting the hang of being undead. And me? I'm Delilah, a werecat with a very interesting love life. But life isn't all fun and games. We're on the trail of the demon general who has decided that we've become quite a nuisance...

It's Samhain, and the Autumn Lord, has called for my training to begin with the Death Maidens...and I find that I like it. But we've got problems: werewolves are going missing and a new magical drug, "Wolf Briar," is being used as a weapon. My dear Chase and I have come to a delicate crossroads and there's no turning back from our decision. And most dangerous of all: Stacia Bonecrusher has put a bounty on our heads. Now it's a race to take out the demon general before she realizes the sixth Spirit Seal is within her reach...

Harvest Hunting continues Delilahs Story. Delilah as we know is a werecat shifter that is usually very emotional and gets overwhelmed very quickly, Well she totally comes out of her shell in Harvest Hunting. Not only is there tons of action there is tons of change. Delilah finally starts training to be a death maiden and she also gets a great look into her destiny with the Death Maidens and the Autumn lord and comes to terms with it. I have enjoyed reading all the stories of the D'Artigo sisters and am looking forward to what comes next.

Review: Living Nightmare by Shannon K. Butcher

Release Date: November 2, 2010
Publisher: Signet
ISBN: # 9780451232373
Genre: Paranormal Romance
They are the Sentinels. Three races descended from ancient guardians of mankind, each possessing unique abilities in their battle to protect humanity against their eternal foes: the Synestryn. Now one Sentinel's burning loyalty and love may prove to be her greatest weapons.
For nine years, Nika has had one goal: to save her younger sister from the Synestryn who hold her captive. Now the psychic bond Nika forged with her sibling is fading, and time is running out. But the one man who can unlock the power inside her left and never returned, leaving Nika alone to rescue a sister everyone else believes is dead.
Madoc swore to himself he would never enter Dabyr again. For his soul is nearly dead, and he fears what he might do to those he's sworn to protect -- especially Nika. If he accompanies her into the Synestryn realm, his forbidden desire for her may unleash the savage monster within him. But Nika's need to rescue her sister is soon becomes intertwined with her passion for Madoc, while the a key to victory in the war may be within her reach...

When Nika was little her sister Tori was taken by s'gath demons from there house and Nika was infected by the demons as they took her blood. The result of the blood taking left Nika's mind splintered as she is a psychic and the more s'gath demons that shared her blood the more of them that she was connected to and the more her mind splintered.   Madoc is on the verge of loosing his soul and he is trying everything in his power to kill off as many of the demons that share Nika's blood as possible she she can have her mind completly back again. Although he is in love with Nika and Nika with him he refuses to be with her out of fear that he will hurt her so he has been staying away from her even though she needs him and vice versa but Nika has grown a backbone and refuses to give up.

I love Nika and Madoc together. I was so happy to see that this book was finally going to have their story as the main one. Of course there is many side snippets to other couples and going on but it all flowed together perfectly to bring a story full of action, suspense and passion. I was able to connect with the characters as I always am in Ms Butcher's stories. You defiantly need to read all the books in the series to follow along so make sure you grab book 1 Burning Alive if you haven't already read it.

Review: Nightshade by Andrea Cremer

Nightshade
Author: Andrea Cremer
Release Date: October 19, 2010
Publisher: Philomel
Nightshade Book #1
ISBN: # 9780399254826
Genre: YA Paranormal
Calla Tor has always known her destiny: After graduating from the Mountain School, she'll be the mate of sexy alpha wolf Ren Laroche and fight with him, side by side, ruling their pack and guarding sacred sites for the Keepers. But when she violates her masters' laws by saving a beautiful human boy out for a hike, Calla begins to question her fate, her existence, and the very essence of the world she has known. By following her heart, she might lose everything— including her own life. Is forbidden love worth the ultimate sacrifice?

First off before you read Nightshade you should go over HERE and read a free copy of Shadow Days (this link is the direct link from Amazon.com Nighshade listing under more to explore) or else you might be a tad lost. Who does NOT love this cover?? I  saw it and knew I had to read it. Nightshade pretty much starts off right where Shadow Days ends with Shane being attacked by a bear. This book takes on a WHOLE new meaning to "werewolves" which technically the wolfs aren't they are called Guardians. And what is a Guardian might you ask? Well they are pretty much slaves to the Keepers who get to decide what they do, where they live, who they marry and have kids with. Calla the Alpha female of one pack is all set to marry "become mate to" Ren who is the Alpha male of another pack who she has been sworn to since birth. Then Shay moves to town and all of a sudden Calla starts questioning everything she has always known. There is tension, a love triangle and a super big cliff hanger in Nightshade but I think you will enjoy it anyways and want to continue with reading Wolfsbane which comes out in July 2011.

Review: Crusade by Nancy Holder, Debbie ViguiƩ

Crusade
Release Date: September 7, 2010
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Crusade Book #1
ISBN: # 9781416998020
Genre: YA
For the past two years, Jenn has lived and trained at Spain’s Sacred Heart Academy Against the Cursed Ones. She is among the few who have pledged to defend humanity or die trying. But the vampires are gaining power, and the battle has only just begun.

Forced to return home after death takes a member of her family, Jenn discovers that San Francisco is now a vampire strong-hold. As a lone hunter apart from her team, Jenn is isolated — and at risk. She craves the company of her fighting partner, Antonio: his protection, his reassurance, his touch. But a relationship with Antonio comes with its own dangers, and the more they share of themselves, the more Jenn stands to lose.

Then Jenn is betrayed by one who was once bound to protect her, causing her to doubt all she had held as true. To survive, Jenn must find the courage to trust herself — and her heart.

I honestly didn't think I was going to like this book after I started reading it. I ALMOST put it down after the first couple of chapters and returned it to the book store to exchange it with something else. I really didn't want to have to drive all the way back there to exchange it so I stuck with it and kept reading. I'm glad I did, The story really picked up and got more interesting as I kept reading. Crusade was an interesting take on vampires. The world pretty much is taken over with them and in some cities they have strong holds and if you don't join them your pretty much dead. Jenn is a hunter, one in a team which is unusual as there is usually just one hunter that goes out by themselves but this team is of course different as they work together in pairs. Her grandfather has passed away so she has to fly home and leave her team to go to the funeral. Someone at home betrays her and pretty much sells her to the vampires (who want to kill her because she is a hunter) in exchange for safety. She then runs and meets up with her team elsewhere later on in the story and goes onto kick some vamp butt. There is many points of views in this book which I'm not totally fond of, I like books more with one point of view but it doesn't get confusing or anything through out the story. All in all this is a neat book and I was totally into it as it got close to the end. I'm excited to see where the story goes next.

Reviews: Soul Screamers books 0.5-3 by Rachel Vincent

Since I read all these together in preparation of reading and reviewing My Soul to Steal I thought I would do short to the point reviews for them.

My Soul To Lose
Release Date: July 1, 2009
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Soul Screamers Book #0.5
ISBN: # 9781426838675
Genre: YA Urban Fantasy

SOUL SCREAMERS PREQUEL NOVELLA

Kaylee Cavanaugh's trip to the mall ends with a brutal panic attack and a brainscrambling shriek she can't stop. Her secret fear is exposed. It's the worst day of her life.
Until she wakes up in the psychiatric unit.
But the hospital isn't a safe place for Kaylee, and getting out won't be easy because everyone thinks she's crazy. Everyone except Lydia, who has a secret of her own...

I thought this was a great place to start the series, You get to know Kaylee a little bit and get introduced to her best friend Emma. You learn about Kaylee's abilities although you wont find out why she has those abilities until book 1. You should defiantly start here as the events that take place are mentioned throughout the entire series.

I gave it 3.5/5

My Soul To Take
Release Date: August 1, 2009
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
ISBN: # 9780373210039
Genre: YA Urban Fantasy

SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH KAYLEE CAVANAUGH
She doesn't see dead people, but...
She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally.
Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about the need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next...

I liked the main character Kaylee and her gifts. Rachel Vincents take on the Irish folklore was refreshing and new. I had no problem believing the story and the abilities as they were told as they were explained so well. The romance between Kaylee and Nash is intense yet not over the top for teen readers.

I gave it 4/5 stars

My Soul To Save
Release Date: January 1, 2010
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
ISBN: # 9780373210046
Genre: YA Urban Fantasy

“If she were going to die, I’d already be screaming. I’m a banshee.  That’s what we do.”

The last thing Kaylee needs right now is to be skipping school, breaking her dad’s ironclad curfew and putting her boyfriend’s loyalty to the test.  But starry-eyed teens are trading their souls for a flickering lifetime of fame and fortune in exchange for eternity in the Netherworld—a consequence they can’t possibly understand.  Kaylee can’t let that happen, even if trying to save their souls means putting her own at risk...

Kaylee, Nash and Tod help a pop star to get her soul back from the hellion that she sold it to before she dies. Kaylee is also trying to adjust with having her father back in her life and living with him. I wasn't crazy about this book. I still like the characters and all but I couldn't stay connected with what was happening for most of the book.

I gave it 3/5 stars

My Soul To Keep
Release Date: June 1, 2010
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
ISBN: # 9780373210053
Genre: YA Urban Fantasy

WHEN KAYLEE CAVANAUGH SCREAMS, SOMEONE DIES
AND KAYLEE IS ABOUT TO SCREAM HER HEAD OFF...

Kaylee has one addiction: her very hot, very popular boyfriend, Nash. A banshee like Kaylee, Nash understands her like no one else. Nothing can come between them.

Until something does.

Demon’s breath. No, not the toothpaste-challenged kind. The Netherworld kind. The kind that really can kill you. Somehow, the super-addictive substance has made its way to the human world. But how? Kaylee and Nash have to cut off the source and protect their friends—one of whom is already hooked.

And when the epidemic hits too close to home, Kaylee will have to risk everything to save those she loves.

I thought what Tod did in book 2 was bad, but what Nash does in My Soul to Keep was way worse I'm not sure how Rachel will spin the future but I'm excited to find out. Kaylee is just being thrown through a loop and having her world shoved upside down. I am looking forward to seeing what Alec brings to the series if he is sticking around.

Review: The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook

The Iron Duke
Release Date: October 5, 2010
Publisher: Berkley Trade
ISBN: # 9780425236673
Genre: Steampunk Romance
First in an all-new series where seductive danger and steampunk adventure abound in the gritty world of the Iron Seas. After the Iron Duke freed England from Horde control, he instantly became a national hero. Now Rhys Trahaearn has built a merchant empire on the power-and fear-of his name. And when a dead body is dropped from an airship onto his doorstep, bringing Detective Inspector Mina Wentworth into his dangerous world, he intends to make her his next possession.
But when Mina uncovers the victim's identity, she stumbles upon a conspiracy that threatens the lives of everyone in England. To save them, Mina and Rhys must race across zombie-infested wastelands and treacherous oceans-and Mina discovers the danger is not only to her countrymen, as she finds herself tempted to give up everything to the Iron Duke.

Rhys Is the Iron Duke, He defeated the evil Horde and is now a hero to all of England. Detective Willamina (Mina) Wentworth is called to his home one night to investigate a body that was dropped on Rhys' front porch. She meets the handsome, stubborn, strong willed Rhys and instantly pulls away and tries to keeps her distance to protect herself while he tries everything he has to possess her. This is the second steampunk book series that I have read and I was very happy with it. When I first heard of steampunk I didn't think I would like it at all and I'm happy that I gave it a chance because I fell in love with the genre. The world that Meljean Brook created is completely believable and I had no problem imagining myself walking down the streets. The story was full of adventure, steamy romance and Paranormal elements. The only thing Im sad about is that the next Iron Sea's story wont continue Mina and Rhys story cause I want to read about them more.

I am most thankful that my family is healthy. I know that sounds like something everyone says but I cant help but think of how many people cant truly say that and my heart goes out to them. We don't have any traditions that we follow, All of our family is up in Chicago IL and we live in NC so we just have a smaller version of the big Thanksgiving dinner.

Review: Highborn by Yvonne Navarro

Highborn
Release Date: October 26, 2010
Publisher: Pocket
ISBN: # 9781439191736
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Award-winning author of over twenty novels enters the urban fantasy genre with a story of a fallen angel who returns to human form to gain redemption.

EVERYONE DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE. BRYNNA MALAK MIGHT BE THE EXCEPTION TO THE RULE.

Brynna is a fallen angel trying to earn redemption. She’s escaped from Hell in search of a new life on Earth, but Lucifer’s deadliest hunters are hot on her trail. Police Detective Eran Redmond is after her for a different reason: he needs Brynna to help him find a serial killer who is terrifying Chicago . . . and the trail leads them right to Hellspawned demons of the most dangerous kind. She’s also got a very human problem: dealing with a stubborn, attractive cop who makes her long for everything she knows she can’t have.

Staying alive long enough to earn a shot at Heaven will mean breaking some major rules in the mortal world, as she learns just how complicated and wonderful being human can be. With so much stacked against her, even Brynna has to wonder if she’s crazy. But she’s not giving in without a fight.

Not a chance in Hell. . . .

Brynna has escaped from Hell and is looking for redemption. She is being hunted by Hells hunters right from the start. In the beginning she witnesses a murder and ends up being arrested by Detective Eran Redmond and he ends up helping set her out with clothes and a job and they slowly start gravitating towards being more than friends. Eran of course at first doesn't believe her when she tells him who she is and what exactly is killing people. Brynna is adjusting to the human world and pretty naive when it comes to modern things. She is so used to life in hell that she is very detached from human emotion. She really knows how to kick butt and ends up helping a lot more people then she probably planned to. Her big mission in this book is attached to the character Mireva who is a Nephalim (half angel/half Human) and 17 year old High School student who is trying to get a full scholarship to go to collage as her family cant afford to send her to the kind of collage she wants to attend. Brynna's character was great and defiantly not the typical heroine which was kinda a nice change from the norm.  Concrete Savior, book two will be released in June 2011 and I defiantly plan to continue the series.

Review: Queen of Shadows by Dianne Sylvan

Queen of Shadows
Release Date: Aug 31, 2010
Publisher: ACE
ISBN: #9780441019250
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Spread throughout the dark corners of our world lies the Shadow World, a society of vampires that feeds off the living. In Austin, Texas, one woman’s madness will drive her into a world that few people ever see–or even know exists…

Shortly after she picked up a guitar, Miranda Grey conquered the Austin music scene with a newfound ability to psychically manipulate her audience’s emotions. But as her powers outgrow her control, her mind is increasingly invaded by haunting secrets and overwhelming sadness. Unable to look anyone in the eye, Miranda is fast approaching the edge of insanity–with no one to catch her fall…

When he outlawed killing humans, David Solomon ignited a civil war among Austin’s vampires. As Prime of the South, his sympathy for mortals angered the old guard who refuse to control their violent urges. David has his hands full with the growing insurgency, but he takes in a broken-down woman, a musician in need of supernatural guidance. Little does he know that Miranda Grey has the power to change his world as well…

Miranda is in a very bad spot in the beginning of this book not only is she going insane she ends up going through something horrific. The horrific event leads to David back to the Haven (where he lives)where he helps her heal and he ends up helping her control her powers as well. I really liked Miranda, she pretty much goes from being insane and afraid to strong and powerful and it isn't overnight you actually get to see it build. David is the Prime (leader) of the area vampires. He is a powerful person and also a techno geek but he still comes out as a hot piece of vampire man. I loved how he handled Miranda and took care of her throughout her entire ordeal. They really made a great powerful match. I really felt the whole book was paced fantastically nothing happened to fast or to slow. I am excited to read the next book in the series Shadow Flame which will be out in July of 2011. OH if your an emotional reader like me, make sure you have tissues on hand for the beginning.

Jaz Parks here. I. Am. Pissed. Just as Vayl and I arrive in Morocco to secure an ancient artifact, he wakes up calling me by another woman’s name. And it’s not even a good one. But since any form of argument transforms him into an unholy terror, I’m forced to play along until the gang and I can figure out what kind of power has so vastly altered his perceptions.

So it’s time for me to do what any well-trained assassin in my position might do. I attack. What follows is a hair-raising, breath-taking bullet train ride to the finish as the crew battles on multiple fronts. I now know what I have to do – I must return to hell one last time.

The story starts out with Val having lost his memory and the crew, Jaz, Colin, Bergman, trying to find out what has happened to him and how to get his mind back to the current century. There is a TON of tension going on, Jaz being upset that Val doesn't remember her, Colin being in love with Jaz but Jaz not loving him back, The inn owner that likes Bergman but Bergman just doesn't get it, and of course the presence of the Demon Kyphos who wants Colin but Colin will never love her. I was pretty lost for most of the whole memory loss bit, It was all a bit confusing in the beginning and they hardly do anything about what they are really there for (in Morocco) until half way threw the book. Right before Val gets his current memories back it finally picks up and the actions starts, it gets much better from there. Bergman completely blew me away with some of his actions and Cole went through hell for a while and the book kinda left some stuff with him unfinished But Im sure that will be cleared up in book 8 The Deadliest Bite. The story was so unpredictable towards the end that I was glued to the pages wanting to know what else could possibly happen. If you start off reading it and want to put it down DON'T keep going it gets better.

I gave it 4/5

Review: Blood Heat by Maria Lima

Blood Heat

Blood Lines Book #4

Genre: Urban Fantasy
Texas is heating up. . . .The summer heat wave that’s hit Rio Seco, Texas, has even the vampires complaining, but now that Keira—the Kelly Heir—is home from Vancouver, the weather isn’t the only thing too hot to handle. Keira should be setting up her court and planning the big reception at which she and her consort, vampire ruler Adam Walker, will receive the magical leaders from the local area, but pomp and circumstance just aren’t Keira’s thing, especially not with trouble smoldering in her domain. A werewolf couple has mysteriously gone missing from a local pack, and when Keira is asked by their leader to investigate, she finds that some dissatisfied neighbors may have been taking, well, strong action against the wer community—action that could be repeated and could involve Keira and those she loves. With the reception looming and danger fast blazing out of control, the pressure is on Keira to keep Texas safe for supernaturals. Sometimes, it’s just not that great to be Heir. . .

The book starts as Keira has completed a 3 month training stint with Gigi on being the Kelly Heir and is now back in Rio Seco. The whole Court is getting ready for the big reception where all the of the people Keira and Adam will rule over come in and meet them and also where Keira will Blood Bond with her Brothers/protectors. If the stress of that isn't bad enough they are visited by a local werewolf pack that has been having members disappear and they jump right into that investigation.

I didn't feel that Blood Heat had as much action as the previous books in the Blood Lines series. I still thought the book was written very well and we learn a little bit more about Adam and Keira's past. The ending will get you excited to read the next book as we will finally be getting into stuff about Keira's Mothers side of the family tree!! The next book is guaranteed to have a TON of drama.
