Charley Davidson, Grim Reaper Extraordinaire, is back in this sexy, suspenseful novel of supernatural shenanigans.

When Charley is rudely awakened in the middle of the night by her best friend who tells her to get dressed quickly and tosses clothes out of the closet at her, she can’t help but wonder what Cookie’s up to. Leather scrunch boots with a floral miniskirt? Together? Seriously? Cookie explains that a friend of hers named Mimi disappeared five days earlier and that she just got a text from her setting up a meet at a coffee shop downtown. They show up at the coffee shop, but no Mimi. But Charley finds a message on the bathroom wall. Mimi left a clue, a woman’s name. Mimi’s husband explains that his wife had been acting strange since she found out an old friend of hers from high school had been found murdered a couple weeks prior. The same woman Mimi had named in her message.

Meanwhile, Reyes Alexander Farrow (otherwise known as the Son of Satan. Yes. Literally) has left his corporeal body and is haunting Charley. He’s left his body because he’s being tortured by demons who want to lure Charley closer. But Reyes can’t let that happen. Because if the demons get to Charley, they’ll have a portal to heaven. And if they have a portal to heaven…well, let’s just say it wouldn’t be pretty. Can Charley handle hot nights with Reyes and even hotter days tracking down a missing woman? Will Cookie ever get a true fashion sense? And is there enough coffee and chocolate in the world to fuel them as they do? Here is your signpost for the most hilarious read of the summer: Second Grave On The Left.
I have already reviewed SECOND GRAVE ON THE LEFT but was contacted to review the Audio as well. This is the very first audio book I have had the pleasure of listening to. Here is my original review with my added thoughts on the Audio version of the book.

Original review: " I love me some Charley Davidson and Reyes is just a fantastic added bonus. I think Charley is one of the funniest heroines I have had the pleasure to read about.  Her snarky replies and come backs have me laughing so hard sometimes that tears streak down my face. All of the characters that Darynda introduces fit perfectly and add there own elements to the story. There is great action and twists thrown around, Charley almost dies multiple times, we learn more about Reyes (yummy), we get to see some shocking things done by her family, and the ending will take your breath away and leave you wanting more. Every word and every scene in the book had be glued to the pages. I really have nothing bad to say about the second installment of the Charley Davidson series but I can tell you that I can not wait to get my hands on THIRD GRAVE DEAD AHEAD."

I wasn't sure I would care for an Audio book so I had never purchased one before. I think SECOND GRAVE AT A TIME was the perfect first experience since I had already read it previously.  I thought the speakers voice was pleasant to listen too and I enjoyed the changes in her voice as she read the book. I really liked that I could bring the cd with me in the car and listen to it while I was driving doing errands. I think being able to listen to an interview about the book with the author at the end is a really good bonus as well. I love being able to hear or read what the author was thinking while writing her book. If you are thinking of picking up SECOND GRAVE ON THE LEFT in Audio version, I think you will have no issues getting into the book. Audio seems to be a great alternative to sitting down and reading and I think I might pick up another audio book for those times that my eyes are to tired to enjoy a good book or I'm on the road.
